How to take care of the Vagina

By Bidmia Christabel

The Vagina is the female reproductive organ which connects the womb to the outside and recieves the penis during coitus ( sexual intercourse). It is a very delicate part of a woman's body. Most young girls do not take good care of their genital organ for many are ignorant. Here are important points to take in to consideration in taking care of the Vagina.

1) Avoid using detergents to wash your Vagina. When taking a bath, do not use soap or any detergent for the vagina has its normal smell which is not offensive at all. We girls should note that the Vagina has bacteria called the normal Flora of the vagina which helps equilibrate the vagina.( As much as human beings need a particular Temperature to live in, so to the bacteria in the vagina needs a particular temperature to live .Now using Soap or detergents, destroys this natural bacterials in your Vagina bringing about more infections.

2) Avoid shaving all the hair in your Vagina.

The hair in your Vagina is called pubic hair and this hair serves as a gateway to trap any organism going in to the vagina. It is advisable to shave from up and do not shave too low. When you do not shave, the hair will produce disease bacteria called Human papilloma virus which grows and causes cervical cancer.

3) Put on Cotton white pants. The Vagina has its normal secretion and thus it is good to put on cotton pants so as to absorb this secretion. Using a white colour pants,  is very useful for if the colour of this secretion changes, you can know if there is a problem.

4) Bath atleast twice a day. Bathing twice a day is very necessary as a woman so as to avoid germs and organisms in your Vagina. For the vagina has normal secretion so staying for 24hours daily and taking a bath just once is not that healthy

5) Practice menstrual hygiene: Change pads regularly and bath twice.
